PIN: forgotten, locked, changing it

Your 6-digit PIN protects every transfer, payment and withdrawal. Here is how it works and what to do if it is locked or forgotten.

What your PIN is for

You choose your PIN when you sign up. It is required to confirm every transfer, every request you pay and every bank withdrawal. Even if someone holds your unlocked phone, they cannot move your money without it. Other protections are on the security page.

Locked after 5 errors

After 5 wrong codes, PIN entry is locked for 15 minutes. This stops anyone trying to guess your code. Wait for the time to pass, then try again carefully. Support does not need to unlock it.

Change your PIN

  1. Open the Profile tab.
  2. Tap Change secret code.
  3. Enter your current PIN, then the new one twice.

Avoid birth dates, sequences (123456) and repeated digits (111111), which are refused anyway. Change it if you think someone saw it.

Forgotten PIN

Email support@paymedaba.com from your account's email address with your @username. To protect your money, the team will check your identity before any reset. Never email an old PIN.

Good habits

  • Never share your PIN, not even with family or someone claiming to work for PayMeDaba.
  • PayMeDaba will never ask for your PIN or password by phone, SMS, WhatsApp or email.
  • Turn on Face ID or fingerprint to unlock the app. It locks again after 1 minute in the background.
  • If you lose your phone or suspect fraud, email support@paymedaba.com right away.

Does Face ID replace the PIN?

Face ID or fingerprint unlock the app. Your PIN is still required to confirm transfers, payments and withdrawals.

Can PayMeDaba staff ask for my PIN?
