Where is PayMeDaba at?
The app is being prepared. Launch is planned after obtaining the approval of Bank Al-Maghrib, the authority that oversees payment services in Morocco. Until that approval is obtained, nobody can open an account or send money with PayMeDaba.
We are not announcing a date: it does not depend on us alone, and we would rather not promise what we cannot keep. The waitlist is the surest way to hear the day it happens.
What you can do right now
Just one thing, and it takes ten seconds: add your email address in the form on this page. There is no commitment and it does not oblige you to open an account later. We will write to that address to announce the opening.
We do not ask for a phone number, bank details or ID for the waitlist. If you change your mind, write to privacy@paymedaba.com and we will remove your address.
What happens at launch
- You get an email announcing the opening.
- You download the app, available on iPhone and Android.
- You create your account: 18 or older, living in Morocco, an email address confirmed with a 6-digit code and a Moroccan mobile number starting with 06 or 07.
- You choose your public @username and your 6-digit PIN.
Then you can send money, ask to be paid back, top up by card and, once your identity is verified, withdraw to your RIB.
What to expect
- Instant transfers between friends and family, around the clock, with a 0.1% fee paid by the sender (details on the pricing page).
- Payment requests to get paid back without the awkwardness.
- A personal QR code and link to receive money.
- Card top-ups and withdrawals to your RIB, with no fee.
- An app in French, Arabic and English, with dark mode.
Get ready
A few ideas to be ready on day one: think about the @username you would like (3 to 20 characters: letters, digits, dot, underscore), keep your national ID card handy for identity verification, and tell your friends about PayMeDaba, since money moves between PayMeDaba accounts.
