Our mission
Money moves between people every day: your share of the flatshare rent, Friday ftour, the ghrama at a wedding, a group present for a colleague. These exchanges are simple in intent and awkward in practice. You hunt for change, queue at a counter, or send a bank transfer that lands the next day.
PayMeDaba is a person-to-person payment app built for those moments. The goal: giving or returning money to someone close should feel as natural as sending a message. Daba means "now" in Darija. That is our promise: the money arrives now, not tomorrow.
Transparent fees
We chose one fee that is easy to understand: 0.1% on transfers between users, paid by the sender and rounded up to the next centime. Receiving money, card top-ups, withdrawals to a RIB and opening an account are not charged. No subscription. The fee is shown before every confirmation, and all worked examples are public on the pricing page.
Security first
An app that moves money has to earn its users' trust. At PayMeDaba every transfer, payment and withdrawal is confirmed with a 6-digit PIN, top-ups go through the bank's 3-D Secure page, and every movement is written to an accounting ledger reconciled with balances. We explain it all without jargon on the security page.
Built for Morocco
PayMeDaba is designed for life in Morocco: amounts in dirhams, mobile numbers starting 06 and 07, withdrawals to the 24-digit Moroccan RIB, identity checks with the national ID card. Our examples are about petit taxis, ftour and flatshares in Casablanca or Rabat, because that is where money between friends really moves.
In French, Arabic and English
The app and this website are available in French, Arabic and English. Everyone should understand what they pay and what they agree to in the language that feels most natural to them. The app also has a dark mode.
Where we are
PayMeDaba is not available yet. Launch is planned after obtaining Bank Al-Maghrib approval. Until then we publish no user numbers, no reviews and no promised dates. To hear when it opens, join the waitlist. To write to us, all our addresses are on the contact page.
