Your personal QR code
Your QR code is always one tap away in the app. To pay you, your friend opens PayMeDaba, scans the code on your screen and lands straight on the send screen with your @username already filled in. They just enter the amount and confirm with their PIN.
It is the fastest option when you are face to face: at the café table after a match, getting out of a shared taxi, or when a colleague pays back the 50 MAD you lent them for lunch.
Your payment link: paymedaba.com/@username
When you are not together, share your link. It looks like paymedaba.com/@username, for example paymedaba.com/@karim.e. Send it on WhatsApp, by SMS or pin it in a group chat description.
Opening the link takes your friend to a payment screen pre-filled with your username. They choose the amount and confirm with their PIN, just like any other money transfer.
Get paid in three steps
- Open your QR code in the app, or copy your payment link.
- Show the code to your friend, or send them the link.
- They enter the amount, confirm with their PIN, and the money lands in your balance instantly, with a notification.
For a shared cost, each friend can scan your QR code in turn. Or send each of them a payment request and track it from the home screen, which works well for splitting the bill.
What the person paying you sees
Your QR code and link never reveal your phone number, email or bank details. The person paying you only sees your first name, the initial of your last name and your @username. They can check they are paying the right person without your private details being passed around.
What does it cost?
Receiving money costs nothing, whether by QR code, link or phone number. The sender pays the usual 0.1% of the amount, rounded up to the next centime: 0.05 MAD on 50 MAD, 0.30 MAD on 300 MAD. Every example is on the pricing page.
