Your balance is not stuck in the app
The money you receive from friends and family is yours. Keep it in your balance for your next transfers, or move it to your bank account to pay a water and electricity bill, use a cash machine or simply save it. Withdrawals go to any bank account in Morocco, using its RIB.
The 24-digit Moroccan RIB
A Moroccan RIB (bank account identifier) has 24 digits:
- 3 digits for the bank code;
- 3 digits for the city code;
- 16 digits for the account number;
- 2 digits for the RIB key.
The app checks the key automatically, so a typo is caught before the request is even sent. You can save up to 5 bank accounts, for example your current account and a savings account.
How to withdraw
- Verify your identity once (photos of your national ID card and a selfie, in the app).
- Add the RIB of the account to credit, or pick a saved one.
- Enter the amount, 50 MAD minimum.
- Confirm with your 6-digit PIN.
The request is processed within 24 to 48 business hours. Its status shows in your activity, and you get a notification at each step.
Why verify your identity before the first withdrawal?
Withdrawals to a bank account are only open to verified accounts. You photograph the front and back of your national ID card (CNIE), then take a selfie, all inside the app. The compliance team reviews it, usually within 24 hours, and you get a notification when it is done. Verification also raises your limits. It protects you too: even if someone got hold of your phone, they could not move your balance to their own account without your PIN. More on the security page.
No fee, and refunded if rejected
PayMeDaba charges no withdrawal fee: withdraw 1,200 MAD and 1,200 MAD goes to your bank. If a withdrawal is rejected, for example because the account is closed or the holder does not match, the full amount returns to your balance. All fees are on the pricing page, and card top-ups are explained on the top up by card page.
