1. Service status
PayMeDaba is not open to the public yet. Payment services will only open after Bank Al-Maghrib approval is obtained. Until then, no account can be opened and no operation can be made.
This text is a preliminary version. The terms will be finalised and published in final form before launch, and that final version will apply to users. Details of the legal entity operating PayMeDaba (name, registered office, registration) will be published on this page before launch.
2. Purpose
These terms govern the use of the PayMeDaba mobile app and the paymedaba.com website. PayMeDaba will let users send, request and receive money between each other, top up their balance by bank card and withdraw their balance to a bank account in Morocco. PayMeDaba does not offer payment cards, merchant payments or international transfers.
3. Eligibility
- Be 18 or older and live in Morocco.
- Have a valid email address, confirmed with a 6-digit code.
- Have a Moroccan mobile number starting with 06 or 07.
- Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
The app will be available on iPhone and Android.
4. Account, username and identity check
Each user picks a public @username of 3 to 20 characters. When another user looks them up, they only see their first name, last-name initial and @username. The mobile number and email are never shown.
Identity verification (photos of the front and back of the CNIE plus a selfie, reviewed by the compliance team) is required to withdraw to a bank and to reach higher limits. PayMeDaba may ask for more information or documents where regulation requires it.
5. PIN and security
Each user creates a 6-digit secret code (PIN) that confirms transfers, request payments and withdrawals. It is strictly personal and must never be shared, including with someone claiming to work for PayMeDaba. PayMeDaba will never ask for it by phone, SMS, WhatsApp or email. After 5 wrong attempts, the PIN locks for 15 minutes.
If the phone is lost, the PIN is disclosed or fraud is suspected, the user must contact support@paymedaba.com immediately.
6. Transfers, requests and irrevocability
Transfers between PayMeDaba accounts are instant. Before confirming, the app shows the recipient and the fee. A transfer confirmed with the PIN is irrevocable: neither the sender nor PayMeDaba can cancel it. The user is responsible for checking the recipient.
A payment request can be paid or declined by the person who receives it, and cancelled by its author while it is pending.
7. Top-up and withdrawal
Top-ups are made with a Moroccan bank card or an international Visa or Mastercard, on the issuing bank's 3-D Secure page. PayMeDaba never sees or stores the card number. The minimum is 10 MAD, and the balance is credited once the bank confirms the payment. Nothing is credited if the bank declines.
Withdrawals go to a bank account in Morocco identified by its RIB, after identity verification, from 50 MAD. They are processed within 24 to 48 business hours. If the bank rejects the transfer, the full amount is returned to the balance.
8. Fees and limits
Opening and keeping the account, receiving money, card top-ups and bank withdrawals have no fee and no subscription. Each transfer to another user, including paying a request, costs 0.1% of the amount, paid by the sender, rounded up to the next centime and shown before confirming.
Limits apply according to the account's verification level (balance, amount per transfer, amount sent per day). The planned limits are on the fees and limits page and may change to meet regulatory requirements. Limits in force are shown in the Profile tab.
9. Prohibited uses and anti-money laundering
You may not use PayMeDaba for:
- illegal or fraudulent activities;
- money laundering or terrorist financing;
- using someone else's account or giving false information;
- regular commercial payments without prior agreement.
In line with its legal obligations, PayMeDaba monitors operations, may ask about the source of funds or for supporting documents, and may report suspicious operations to the competent authorities.
10. Suspension and closure
PayMeDaba may suspend or block an account in case of suspected fraud, prohibited use, inaccurate information or at an authority's request, as the law provides.
Users can close their account at any time from the Profile tab, once the balance is 0 MAD and no withdrawal is pending, or by email following the steps on the delete account page. Transaction history is kept for the legal retention period.
11. Personal data and changes to these terms
Personal data processing is described in the privacy policy, under Moroccan law 09-08.
Any change to these terms after launch will be notified to users before it takes effect.
12. Governing law, disputes and contact
These terms are governed by Moroccan law. Any dispute falls under the competent courts of Casablanca, subject to mandatory consumer protection rules.
